Data Transfers to and from General Die

General Die hosts it’s own FTP site. This was done in order to have the security and flexibility to create user accounts for our individual customers providing them with unique user names and passwords.

All data transfers (upload or download) must be followed by a phone call (616)-698-6961 or an email to data@gendie.com to inform General Die of the transfer. Follow up a download from General Die’s FTP so that we may maintain a clean directory on our server by removing files you have downloaded. Follow up a upload to General Die’s FTP so we can pull in the data you have left there for us.

If you do not have an FTP account on General Die & Engineering's FTP site you must contact our Systems Administration department. They will set one up and supply you with a User Name and password. You will then be able to upload, download, and manage your files on our ftp site. You may use a browser or ftp utility. Your User Name and password are case sensitive!

 For our customers who need to transfer data without a personal account may transfer data to our ftp site by using the following information:

General Die’s FTP URL is                  ftp://www.gendie.com/

To access General Die’s FTP site

1. Right–click the ‘start’ button in windows, select ‘open’
2. Replace the text in the address bar with: ftp://www.gendie.com/
3. Hit the enter key or click ‘Go’

To upload files to the FTP site please do the following:

1. Open the ‘Pub’ folder
2. Open the ‘Incoming’ folder
3. Copy desired files one at a time into the ‘Incoming’ folder
